Lutris is an application that facilitates the installation of Windows applications. It is widely used in gaming for installing various launchers such as Rockstar or Star Citizen. However, it is less user-friendly than the previous ones. On the other hand, when used in conjunction with the website https://lutris.net, it is a powerful tool for installing games.

Battle.net

To install Battle.net with Lutris, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the + in the top left corner of the interface.

  1. Click on ‘Search for installers on the Lutris website’

  4. Proceed with the standard installation of Battle.net

8. Once the installation is complete, the login window will appear. Close it!

  3. Close the window. You should now see Battle.net in your Lutris launcher

  1. Double-click Battle.net, and the login window should appear. Enter your login details and click ‘Log In’.

Stand-alone launchers

Let's take Rockstar's launcher as an example.

  1. Go to Lutris.net and search for Red Dead Redemption 2, for example Capture_d_écran_du_2025-08-25_15-19-01

  2. Click on the correct version of the game; here we are using the Windows version Capture_d_écran_du_2025-08-25_15-19-24

  3. Click on install for the Standalone version Capture_d_écran_du_2025-08-25_15-20-07

  4. Once you have clicked on the install button, a browser pop-up window will appear asking if it can open the link with Lutris on your machine. Click on ‘Open link’

  8. Wait a moment, then the Rockstar launcher will appear to continue the installation.

9. Follow the procedure and close the login window that appears.

  2. You can close the window. Back in Lutris, you will see that the Rockstar launcher is now present.

  1. Double-click on it and log in to your Rockstar account. Once you have done so, the launcher will open and you can download your games.
